The Spain pomegranate is determined by its light brown coloured outer skin with pinkish seedlings. This breed is best to be consumed on it’s own or to be used in salads. Taste: Sweeter than usual pomegranates. The Turkey pomegranate has a wholesome red outer skin with ruby red seedlings. Often used for juicing as it has an intense aroma. Taste: Sweet with a slight bitter after taste.
Pomegranates are good source of fibre and has high antioxidant properties and are considered as anti-aging fruits. It is also claimed to be effective against heart disease, high blood pressure, inflammation and some cancers, including prostate cancer.
